Bernard and Jolin: 1st Year of Marriage

July 27, 2013

A short while ago, the boo and I volunteered to shoot for Bernard and Jolin’s 1st year anniversary. After reading so many pre-wedding photography blogs, I was both apprehensive and excited to try shooting for myself. Apprehensive because I was afraid that we wouldn’t be good enough, and that we wouldn’t know how to direct the couple to get those natural-looking photos; and excited because lately I’ve really been seriously considering wedding or couple photography (at least on a part time basis for now) and it was a great opportunity for us to practice.

I used to have the biggest ego when it came to my own work, like I would separate photos taken by me or by the boo and separately watermark them or separately credit them. Now, I’m learning to let go of my ego and see the both of us as a team instead of being individuals because both of us have our own strengths and weaknesses that we can bring to the table.

For the shoot we went to PJ Trade Centre because they wanted floor to ceiling brick walls and PJ Trade Centre was known for its exposed brick walls, concrete ceilings and cement floors.

Wai Meng and Olivia get married

July 23, 2013

The boo had the honour of being one of the entourage for Wai Meng and Olivia’s wedding last weekend so of course I tagged along and had the opportunity to take some photos of the groom’s entourage during their preparation period. I shot most of the photos in black and white with highest aperture due to the average lighting but surprisingly everything came out looking well. My newest love is now black and white!
I put up all the photos on Facebook already, but as usual Facebook compresses everything with a vengeance so to spare my eyes the pain of low resolution photos, here we go again.

Lunch diaries #2

July 1, 2013

The boo and I no longer go to Nirwana as often as we used to, because now we’ve found a better place for banana leaf! Well, minus the deep-fried bitter gourd that everybody likes so much. The fried chicken is the bomb.

At Kanna Curry House, SS17.

Don’t know why my face is so lumpy in this picture =.=
